MATTHEW CHAPTER 6 : VERSES 9 -15

Morning Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, who desires me to love and to serve one another, and created me to be at one with you and the people I meet, grant me all through this day the gifts and graces which will make me easy to live with.

Grant me courtesy, that I may live every moment as if I were living at the court of the King.

Grant me tolerance, that I may not be so quick to condemn what I do not like and what I do not understand.

Grant me considerateness, that I may think of the feelings of others even more than my own.

Grant me kindliness, that I may miss no opportunity to help, cheer, comfort and encourage another.

Grant me honesty, that my work may be my best, whether there is anyone to see it or not.

Grant me to live this day that the world may be a happier place because I passed through it; through Jesus Christ my Lord.

Amen

MATTHEW CHAPTER 6 : VERSES 9 - 15

New International Version

“This, then, is how you should pray:

“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.

For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Evening Prayer

Heavenly Father, I thank you that you have been with me throughout this day.

I thank you that you enabled me to do my work, kept me safe on my journey out whether walking or transport.

I thank you for things to do, people to talk too and for all good pleasures, to enjoy.

I thank you for clothes to wear, for food to eat, for a home, for loved ones who care and help.

May I never take for granted all the things which come to me regularly every day, but that I remember You, the Giver of every good and perfect gift.

This night may I lay myself down in gratitude, and tomorrow wake in resolution to serve You better for all the love you give to me : through Jesus Christ my Lord.

Amen
